Deputy Mayor missing, city streets in disrepair
You don’t have to be a driver to notice that Belize City streets are in desperate need for repairs. For far too long city residents have been clamoring for help with the deplorable state of the streets. And now that the rains and floods have come and gone, we wonder why there is no progress with the streets. So this afternoon News Five tried to reach the Councillor responsible for streets and drains, Deputy Mayor Anthony Michael to get an explanation. We called City Hall and we were told that the Deputy Mayor has not been to the office since his loss in the October fifth Mayoral convention. We visited his home and a family member told us he was at City Hall. We also tried calling his cell phone, but even that proved unsuccessful. So we at News Five will just have to sit and wonder like the other seventy thousand residents of Belize City when exactly will our streets receive the much-needed attention they so desperately scream for.
