Safiyyah scours the country for entertainment hits and weekend wishes

The summer weekends are rolling in one after the other with fun-filled activities for just about everyone. Whether you choose an outing with friends or one with the family, there’ sure to be an event that will tickle your interest!  Concerts abound on Saturday as Courts holds a mid-morning concert, while Super G and a few Belizean actors take the stage Saturday night. Here’s Safiyyah with this week’s food challenge and the weekend rundown.

Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize? This weekend is all about enjoying your summer.

This Saturday day you can head over to the Courts parking lot for their Summer Drive 2010 concert.  There will be performances by Tanya Carter, Supa G, Tricia Gaboural and Sweet Tea. This concert will run from 10am up until 12pm. So its morning fun that you can check out.

This Saturday night Sun spree will be having their own version of the Mardi Gras celebration. There will be free offering of all types of beads and all types of different multicolored Masks to wear and glow accessories for free as you enter. It’s an all out Mardi Gras Affair so go out and enjoy. It’s all going down Saturday inside the Sun Spree resort here in Belize City.

Another Party spot this weekend will be Club Next for the CD Release party for Supa G’s new album ‘Still Standing’’ .  There will be live performances from Supa G himself as well as the Punta Rebels, Lloyd, Reckless and others. The music will also by Mister Hype, Dymatic Sounds, and DJ Dynasty.

If you’re interested in watching a comedy this weekend then you can go see a live one at the Bliss. This one is called ‘’Treasure’’. It’s about family dynamics and the comedic complications when money get involved. It’ll definitely be one you don’t want to miss. You’ll have either this Saturday or Sunday to go check it out at eight p.m.

And don’t forget that you can go party every Sunday night for the month of June inside Palm Island. Music will be provided by Tagg International, Belizean Movements, and other guest DJs.

Now it’s time for our food challenge; this week we headed over to the family owned Southside Meats. Check this out.
