Bella Vista Lots committee treasurer is short over $20,000
Thousands of dollars have been reported stolen from Bella Vista Community. The Bella Vista Lots Committee reported the theft of over twenty thousand dollars after an internal audit was conducted. Salvador Ack, the chairman of the committee, reported that on June third, the committee held a meeting and requested that Fidel Maradiaga, the treasurer, present all receipt books along with a statement of expenditure and the current balance of the committee’s account. Maradiaga then handed over four books and revealed that over forty-one thousand dollars were collected. Maradiaga presented a statement showing that total expenditures of the committee amounted to a little over twenty thousand dollars. if you do the math, there should have been a balance of some twenty-one thousand dollars in the account. But the funds which were collected over one year were missing. The police then detained the treasurer of the lots committee, forty-five year old Maradiaga for questioning.
I hope everything turns out ok , but they shouldn’t be hasty when it comes to miscalculating money..I was once a treasurer, trust me, people can set you up when it comes to money…
a perfect example of this was that incident which happen at the Coca Cola factory, in Dangriga….because of one person, multiple persons were fired because of him.
He made the secretary, illegally sign some documents and because of him…multiple persons were fired!!!!
Xcellency i dont know about your case but guess what i know about this case before it blew up. See the politician go around the villages naming their political illegal land committees, then the Min of Natural Resources appoints them. However, these are people who are political cohorts and they dont have any good intentions just like their boss. There is no such honest (honorable) politician. ok. This thief the survey man money that they were only collecting. The Area Rep should take part of this blame because they are the one to recommend unscruplous supporters to manage people money.
