Safiyyah’s groovy weekly entertainment update

Tropical storm Alex brought heavy rains last weekend. So get ready to catch because this weekend’s weather forecast has surely put party plans back in motion. There’s a series of activities planned from all the way down south to the west and the City. The south is getting ready for an all white affair and a dancehall queen competition. In the west an alumnae ball will be one of the biggest highlights and of course the party will continue in Belize City. Safiyyah has her entertainment report.

Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening  Belize?

Let me start off by telling you guys, in case you didn’t notice, there was a pretty bad storm last weekend, so all the festivities for the Caye Caulker Lobster Fest were postponed until next weekend. Don’t worry; I’ll give a reminder of all the festival’s activities you can look out for next Friday.

Now for this weekend there are events to attend all over the country. Let’s start down south, where club eclipse in Placencia will be having an all white affair. This party titled ‘Glow’ is all going down on Saturday night inside the Placencia hot spot. There will be plenty of giveaways including balloon drops with great prizes. Music will be provided by Federation 501 Sound.

A little further down in PG, there will be a huge party inside the PG Sport’s Bar. This is all happening along with the Dancehall Queen Competition to top the night off. Music will be provided by Fada Smith, DJ Robin, and Jay Dee. Don’t forget it’s all going down Saturday night.

In San Ignacio, Sacred Heart College will be having their 50^th anniversary ball. They are inviting all the students present and past as well as the parents and family to attend. This will be taking place on Saturday night in the Bedran Hall inside the San Ignacio Resort Hotel.  The ball will begin at 9pm and music will be provided by Gilharry 7 and Sonido Majico from Guatemala.

Also happening Cayo side in Red, White and Blue affair called Rep the west. This all going down inside the Blue Angels Night Club in Benque. Music will be provided by Jah Fiyah Sound Crew and for the first time in Blue Angels Tagg International.  There will even be a queen of the west competition. So they are inviting all the ladies and the entire Cayo to go check it out.

Here in Belize City on Saturday Night the place to be is Club Next where they will be celebrating the American Independence day, 4^th of July, Belizean Style. This party called All white 3some is allowing party goers to pay for the price of 2 when entering in groups of all wearing white.  Music will be provided by Lindy D and DJ Motion.

And in case you missed it, you still have the opportunity to head over to the Bliss and see an encore performance of Treasure, a comedy telling you of the problems that can occur when family and money don’t mix. The show will begin at 8pm.  There will also be an encore performance in Belmopan on July 11^th.

A new hot spot that head to here in the city to chill with friends is the Tropicana Bar inside the Fort Street Shopping Plaza. They are open every Thursday and Friday 5 to midnight and they are having great deals on drinks. So check this new place out.

And make sure you mark on calendars celebration for the entire zodiac Cancers out there happening in a few weeks. I’ll tell you more about it next week.
