New CD with blazing tracks
A group of young producers and artists is hoping to bring a new feel to conscious music with a rhythm that grabs your attention and lyrics that hold your thoughts. MoMusicMoRecords is releasing an album called Gully Mansion Riddim, which features artists from all over Belize and several other countries. Hubert ‘Wizz’ Pasqual says the record company spent eight months compiling the album because they did not want to market a mediocre product. Pasqual was at our studios today to talk about the tracks on the CD; songs which he says the man on the street can relate.

“The theme surrounds poverty, it surrounds people trying to make money to live. That’s basically what it’s about. The rhythm comprises of seventeen tracks; several different artists from all over the world. We have artist from Jamaica, artist from Costa Rica, artist from Suriname, artist from New Zealand, artist from Belize. we have a wide range of artists and when I gave them the rhythm—or rather my manager gave them the rhythm and so we got the response we got. It’s a dancehall-ish type of feel. However I tried to create a mood that the people can relate to. I didn’t want to create a rhythm that is bouncy that people want to party. I want people to sit down, relax and listen to reality tracks and most of the artists can relate to that. That’s why most of the tracks on the rhythm speak for the feeling that the individual artist had.”
“The song I really, really, really and truly listen to a lot is “From a Place” by Kemmikal. He is a Jamaican residing in LA and he also did a remix to the track with a guy from Atlanta, Monty. Both tracks are on the album, they’re all good. I also have Mr. Program on the rhythm. I have Kari Jess who is a big Jamaican artist right now as we speak. We work with various Jamaican artists so it’s a trend we’re trying to build as young producers, young musicians. We’re trying to build a MoMusicMoRecords studio like stuff to have a home for Belize artists. The timing is right I believe; too much sufferation, too much violence. Crime affecting all of us in one shape, form or another. So I think the people who purchase the CD can relate to it. we have our sales rep out there on the streets as we speak selling the CD. They’re not in stores yet. We believe that we market the stuff on the streets and then in stores.”
The CDs are being sold for ten dollars if you buy from the artists and twelve if you get it from their sales person.

since the people dont have a lot of money, perhaps it would be a good idea to lower the price a bit, ten or twelve might be a bit too much to spend on a CD for the everage belizean.

I can’t believe the ignorance of my fellow Belizeans as I read the story and the comments listed above. Please read the link above. Why you think they bringing this rubbish to Belize? Because Jamaicans are being destroyed by this GULLY/GAZA stupidity!!! Because Jamaica has refused to have these artists play that type of music encourage gang and thug wars!! Come on Belizeans, do not allow these individuals to make u into thugs for their profit. Come on my fellow Belizeans and Blacks let’s us rise above and beyond oppression. Oppression that is no longer coming from others but from ourselves. We are killing our own fellow Blacks! THIS HAS TO STOP!!!! SAY NO TO DRUGS, VIOLENCE, GULLY/GAZA, CRIPS/BLOODS…..
