Conspirators in botched robbery/murder attempt read charges

In the courts today, five of the six men who allegedly plotted to rob and murder businessman Jose Shoman Junior and his family in December 2008, were read their indictment. Miguel Mayorga, Eswin Rosalez, Carlos Juarez, Jose Ishmael Cordova and Cesar Julio Aldana all appeared before Justice Adolph Lucas and were read charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. They are also facing three firearm offences for a point thirty-eight special revolver and ammunition they were found with. Rosalez, who acquired the services of attorney, Simeon Sampson is the only one with legal representation. All five men pleaded not guilty and their case was adjourned to July twenty-first. They will be remanded at the Hattieville prison in the interim because four of them are non-Belizeans and that makes them flight risks. The sixth accused man, Aldo ‘Pancho’ Urbina who also goes by the name Francisco Martinez, is reported to have absconded from the country while on bail. Urbina and another man were later busted inside a hotel with counterfeit currencies in Quintana Roo soon after he was released on bail. He is now believed to be in a prison in that jurisdiction.
