Police Cpl. Mark August almost gets his day in court

Mark August

PC Jermaine Mangar was not the only cop in court this morning.  Interdicted Police Cpl. Mark August was in the news in late 2009 when Fernando Searle, a Mechanic and his common-law-wife, Tanya Pitts accused him of assault, using threatening words and damage to property.  But this morning, August’s case was adjourned for the fourth time in six months.  His new court date was set for August ninth because the prosecutor was not ready to proceed to trial. The charges arise from a report made by Searle that he was repairing August’s vehicle when the car stereo and a DVD Player went missing. Searle alleges that August accused him of stealing the items, threatening him and later assaulting Pitts. August, however, has a suit of his own and is seeking three thousand dollars in compensation from Searle and Pitts for damages.

Ah, the competence of the prosecutor is so blining that one cannot help but blink! Isn’t this the prelude to a dismissal? We have seen this script play out over and over again. This is so regular that the general public has become desensitized to it! Belizean justice system! Or is there one? One that applies across the board?

attempt murder, Arson and a aggravated burglary cases have been dismissed by Sharon Frazer in May for case file and August case still cling on. Such is unfair cause he was a good cop at the check point. I was in court when his case was not struck out too and adjorn for no disclosure. Shame on our justice system

Why do we prosecute good police and save the high corrupt senior officer as he committed a genocide. Is it because he challenge di top brass or he is too intelligent and become a threat
