Man freed of rape charge; witness could not be found
A nolle prosequi motion has freed a man of rape charges. When twenty-three year old Dion Neal appeared in court this morning, Crown Counsel Trenia Young entered the motion because the prosecution could not locate a key witness. As a result, Neal was free to walk out of court. Neal was accused of raping a twenty-two year old woman on November fourth, 2006. He was unrepresented in court today.
And in related news, a sixteen year old student from Dangriga reports she is the victim of sexual abuse. According to the student, two men entered her home and forced her into a room where both of them raped her at knife point. The incident occurred last Friday in Dangriga.
