Out on bail for burglary, but charged today for new robbery
Meanwhile, twenty-eight year old Carlos Juan Castro Vasquez spent three weeks in jail before he could meet bail for a charge of Burglary in June. That case is still pending, but Castro is already back in the hot seat; this time he is charged with Robbery. Thirty-five year old Omar Heredia identified Castro as the man that allegedly robbed him at gunpoint near his home on Eve Street. That was on July sixteenth and this morning Castro appeared in court with a swollen face and bruised eye, which he claimed was the result of a misunderstanding with another man on Monday. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie denied him bail because of the use of a firearm during the robbery and Castro was remanded until August nineteenth. Heredia, who lives three blocks away from Castro, reported that on the day of the holdup he was standing in front of his home at about six a.m. He claims that Castro approached him with a firearm and took a gold chain from his neck, cash from his pockets and a cell phone from his hand; a total value of three thousand six hundred dollars. Castro was detained three days later.
Here’s a good candidate for a 3-strikes law. Sentence him for his first crime, DOUBLE the sentence for his second crime.
If he ever gets a third conviction, lock him up for life and throw away the key.
NO MERCY TO CRIMINALS.
That’s one heck of a beat down, some of us girls pay to get that arched eyebrow, except we do both. He will eventually use that gun to physically harm or kill someone because one day he will be challenged if he is allowed to stay out on the streets. Just do everyone a favor & keep him in jail.
Leave this idiot in jail,he has no intention of changing.
Since the system dont work for belizeans in belize.but for the rich only, belizeans need to start doing justice for them self.
Self Defense is KARMA at its purest form. Belizean’s need to stop the nanny attitude about criminals and learn to provider personal safety for themselves, their families and their friends. If Law abiding citizens started shooting back soon enough you would run low on criminals, but NO despite the obvious people still think that stricter gun laws will make Belize safer. Funny how 25 years ago all you had to do was buy your gun at the store, take it to the police station and have the cop there write down the serial number. Now you got a bunch of moronic gun laws and look at crime back them vs crime now.
Criminals have it made in Belize cause the cops are corrupt, the Government is in shambles and the citizens are unarmed…We are indeed a Banana Republic
Jesse, stop the bs poor/rich white/black and bla bla bla: system don’t work for anybody. Period
