B.T.L. Employees Trust launches website
Back on June fourteenth, the Court of Appeal deemed the Belize Telemedia Limited Employees Trust as legitimate, that was a victory for Dean Boyce and Keith Arnold, the trustees. There are up to five hundred BTL employees who, through the trust, hold twenty-three percent of shares worth approximately eighty-five million dollars. We say all this because today the trust launched its website on www.btlemployeestrust.com, where employees can keep abreast of legal matters and relevant developments. In a quick perusal of the site, News Five found a letter addressed to Nestor Vasquez, the Chairman of Telemedia, dated July sixteenth. In the missive, Dean Boyce requests a meeting with Vasquez and employees representatives to discuss any concerns. It also set out to clarify that while the government nationalized Sunshine Holdings Limited, it did not nationalize the employees trust. Boyce further states that “as a matter of law, the trustees of the trust are entitled to be fully compensated for the trust assets taken by the government.”
