Novelo’s stage protest over zoning of bus routes
Not only did the Prime Minister have to answer questions about the Mayor’s salary, today he also had to respond to charges by Tony and David Novelo that the government is ruining their business as well as public transport services. Barrow told the press this morning that the reformation of the transport industry in the country of Belize is not political, nor was the decision personal, but in the best interest of providing quality and efficient services to the public. The Novelo Group of Companies say they have invested thirty million dollars to modernize their services and are not buying into Barrow’s rhetoric and staged a protest today in Benque Viejo Del Carmen, the home of the Novelo’s headquarters. The protestors were demanding that the government return the routes to the company so that they can get back to work.
