Jermaine Belgrave back in court on Attempted Murder charge

jermaine belgrave

Jermaine Belgrave was back in court today on another charge of attempted murder. His latest brush with the law has to do with a shooting that occurred back in February when Cleo Robinson was shot three times. Robinson claims that on the night of February twenty-third at about eleven o’clock he was riding a beach cruiser on Glen Street when Belgrave fired several shots at him which caught him on the back and abdomen.  Robinson was arraigned this morning for Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. But records show that Belgrave was indebted to the court for four hundred dollars so he asked Magistrate Dorothy Flowers to transfer the fine to jail time.  In March, Belgrave and Jeffery Flowers were jointly charged with the attempted murder of Detective Constable Harold Grinage and were remanded for three months. Grinage and other officers were on patrol on Baghdad Street when they intercepted Belgrave and Flowers. The cops approached the men, but the two ran away and opened fired on them. Fifteen expended shells were reportedly recovered. Belgrave was out on bail but still has a preliminary inquiry pending for that attempted murder.

Another prime candidate for a “3 strikes” law in Belize. One dangerous crime is enough — the second one is on the head of the slack laws and weak judiciary that won’t “warehouse” these animals, so they get out to shoot, maim, and destroy innocent victims time after time.

How many more times will he be arrested before he is put away for good as a habitual offender. Whatever happened to the Haulover Creek special?

It is time for the law to make some changes. A person with two attempted murder charges should not be out on bail. The criminals are thumbing their power over the law. It is time to get tough. Set bails higher so they just cant make it.

It wouldn’t come as a shocker to me when we hear on the news some day that this guy has been killed. He goes in and comes out of jail repeatedly for different crimes, and all cases involve a gun in it. He obviously doesn’t wana do better for himself, so keep his a$$ locked up. All his previous charges are for attempted murder or so, if u keep him out here he will eventually kill someone. Throw the book in at him.
