Water Taxi crashes into Mexican skiff
There was a taxi accident this afternoon and no one was injured but this wasn’t your everyday accident. Normally collisions occur on the highways, but in this case the accident happened at sea. A boat belonging to the Belize Water Taxi Terminal, also known as the San Pedro Express, crashed into a Mexican skiff after midday today. According to Sergeant Leslie Wade, the investigating officer, the vessel was headed to San Pedro from Belize City.
Sgt. Leslie Wade, Investigating Officer
“We received a report from one Marlon Santos who is the boat captain of a San Pedro Belize Water Taxi. He reported that some time at about one-twenty on even date which is today’s date he was heading to San Pedro from Belize in the said Belize Express Water Taxi boat, license plate BZ-011 and somewhere between San Pedro and Caye Caulker there was a white Mexican skiff that was drifting and on his approach to the skiff he did not see it until he approached it very close. He tried his very best to shun away from the skiff. However, he still collided into the skiff. There was no one aboard the said skiff at the time. Up to present moment we still do not know or we still have not confirmed who is the owner of that skiff that the San Pedro Belize Express collided into.”

“Did anyone get hurt sir?”
Sgt. Leslie Wade
“At this time no one had received any injuries that we are aware of. Nobody received any injuries. We are yet still awaiting the owner of the other boat to come to the station and to give his side of the story. All we have is the report from the captain from the Belize Express Water Taxi.”
But while the police confirmed the accident, Giovanni Marin, one of the co-owners of the San Pedro Belize Express and officials at the office of the Belize Water Taxi Terminal have denied the accident.
