17 year old attempts rape twice in two weeks

A seventeen year old youth of Bella Vista Village, Stann Creek has been charged with Attempted Rape for the second time in as many weeks. Two weeks ago the youth attempted to rape a woman on the street side in the village. Police, who were on patrol in the area nabbed the seventeen year old, averting the rape of the woman. He was taken to court, charged and granted bail. But this past Tuesday, the youth struck again when he tried to rape another woman. The twenty-seven year old victim told police that around eleven Tuesday night she was asleep in her bed when she was awaken by a man who was holding a broken bottle at her neck. She said the man ordered her to strip herself naked, but she put up a struggle and screamed for help. Fortunately, the youth did not carry out the crime because a neighbour heard the woman’s screams and came to her rescue. The youth will appear in the Dangriga Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to face his second charge of Attempted Rape.
