2 found guilty of robbery of bank security guard

Story PictureThey stole a gold ring from a man while they begged him for a dollar and as a result, twenty-three year old Charles West and twenty-four year old Nigel West have been found guilty of Robbery. The victim, Addington Ramos, a security guard for Alliance Bank, reported to police that around three a.m. on March twelfth, he was walking on Fairweather Street when the West brothers approached him and asked him for a dollar. As Ramos reached into his pants pocket to retrieve the dollar, Charles West grabbed his other hand and said “we wah work wid dis” referring to a gold ring on his finger. Ramos allowed him to take the ring as he became fearful when the other brother, Nigel, reached to his side for what Ramos had presumed was a weapon. In court, Ramos identified the West brothers as the culprits and went on to say that he knew them well from his days when he campaigned for former government Minister, Dickie Bradley. The duo claimed innocence in their statement from the dock but said nothing to challenge Ramos’ testimony. Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb deferred sentencing for October fourteenth.
