Court denies bail to veteran thief
From the look of things, Dennis McKoy needs to change his current profession because he has not been successful at it. McKoy currently has four charges of robbery for which trials are pending in the Magistrates’ Court. And if that list was not long enough for him to consider a career change, he also has additional robbery charges to face in the Dangriga Magistrates’ Court. Well, McKoy has been out on bail for all the robbery offences and what did he do? He tried to steal a bicycle parked in front of the Social Security Building on Princess Margaret Drive that belonged to his sixteen year old neighbor. On October ninth at about ten a.m., the minor saw McKoy riding off on his bicycle, valued at a hundred and twenty-five dollars. A B.D.F. soldier that was passing by assisted the boy in retrieving his beach cruiser from McKoy. In court today, the prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that McKoy was on bail for a string of robberies when he committed his most recent act. Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb upheld the objection, denied McKoy bail and he will be on remand until October twenty-fourth.
