Murder in broad daylight in San Pedro
It appeared that there was a ceasefire on murder cases, but today in the nation’s favourite tourism destination, jealously was at the heart of the latest murder case, when an enraged former common-law husband turned on another man who he thought had relations with his ex. The incident occurred in the San Mateo area, one of the poorest neighbourhoods in the island, shortly after midday. Police say that Salvadoran construction worker, Roberto Jimenez, had just arrived at the home of a female friend, Aura Molina, to have lunch when the woman’s ex-common-law husband snuck inside and stabbed the man twice. Soon after the incident, neighbours told sources close to News Five that they saw Molina bolting out of her house carrying her baby and shouting that her ex-common law husband had just killed Jimenez. News Five spoke this evening with San Pedro resident Joseph Budna who summarized the neighbours’ account.
Voice of Joseph Budna
“According to neighbours, what they’re saying is that the male person visited the home of this female and she was to prepare lunch for him when apparently, the ex-common law husband visited the home and staged a creep up attack upon male person just before he received lunch and stabbed him two times which caused him an instant death.”

“Has the police captured the assailant as yet?”
Voice of Joseph Budna
“Well, at this moment police are on an extensive manhunt to detain the person. According to police, reports are that they know who the person is. It’s a person who has had several run-ins with the police.”
Police have retrieved from bushes near the house what they believe was the knife used in the attack. The last murder was reported on September twelfth when Rony Aguilar was shot to death in the village of Cotton Tree.
