Thirty-five year old Eyan Arnold was laid to rest today. While his family and friends said their final farewells, eighteen year old Kirk Smith Jr. was escorted to Magistrate’s Court to be charged for his murder. Smith appeared unrepresented and no plea was taken because murder is an indictable offense. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers explained to him that he will go through a Preliminary Inquiry to determine whether or not he will be committed to the Supreme Court for trial. On August fifteenth, Arnold was shot three times from close range as he headed to his home on Berkley Street. Smith was arrested after police received information from eyewitness placing him at the scene of the murder. Arnold, who fathered one son, worked as a caretaker at Wesley College for over ten years.
Now two lives down the drain & for what?
The cycle of retaliation has to stop & for Christ’s sake parents, get a grip, how many more brothers, sons & children will we bury before we realize that someone has to get off the wheel & break the g-d cycle. Parents, it is okay for our children to see our grief but we cannot continue to lose a generation of young men to murder & prison. The satisfaction many of us may feel after we have taken revenge is only temporary. Our sons, our brothers, our nephews, our fathers are not coming back no matter how much we infect the next generation with hatred. Peace begins with us.
Kid, if you are guilty, understand that we don’t want you rehabilitated, we want state sanctioned murder, we want you put to death. I want you to go to prison with your eyes wide open knowing that when your parents die, when another kin or friend dies, whether from murder or natural causes, all you will have to comfort you are prison walls. If you are convicted & receive a life sentence, you will grow old in jail & your only company will be the dead ones in your head whom I am sure will lose their luster as you & the other kids realize how utterly senseless this is.

Witnesses got to stop yapping if they are not going all the way in cases to prove that someone commited a crime. This has happened over and over and waste the Police time and government funds. What about testing someone for gun shot residue, if they take off their clothes the evidence is still there along with placing them on the scene at the time of the murder. It’s that easy and dont cost a lot of money, simple simple straight forward evidence and its undeniable.
As I watch the picture of the kid, he dont even look scared or worried about the magnitude of his case and the consequences if found guilty. A picture do say a thousand words.

RIP Eyan Arnold AKA Trouble. May you Rest In Peace my brethren. I hope you are resting with the FATHER like a lot of our brethrens and sistrens. May GOD give your family and LOVE ones the courage and strength to go on. Also for them to ovastand that we don’t render evil for evil.
He has the face of a cold blooded murderer, his ugly face displays no sense of regret, or remorse for ending an indivual life, the murder of Eyan is no doubt rendered a success on his list of things to do before he meet his maker.

should he be the first to be hang, lets start with him as a example to the growing youths that life is precious not to be wasted in a manner like this. please hang him before someone takes revenge and things turns ugly. take no plea for things like murder, no life sentence cause we’ll pay for his expenses while in prison while i struggle to earn my money and pay my taxes for him to serve life snetence.

He’ll be free in a few weeks anyway. Police will lose the case file, DPP will screw things up, witnesses will either get killed, disappear, or if they do make it to court, become ‘Hostile’ and refuse to testify – same-o, same-o! And round and round we go!
As for the comment that he’s your brother, Mark. He may well be, but if he commited the murder, that surely doesn’t make it any better, nor should he face a lesser penalty if he gets convicted. A murder is a murder, a life was taken.
I say, hang all murderers, and let God sort them out! eye for an eye, and all that…….Should string up child molesters too!

It is not my fault that he is a stone cold killer, and I know many people that grew up on the streets without parents and who did not killed anyone.

Whether or not he’s innocent or guilty, Belizean Authorities need to change focus and shift gears. This is an epidemic. I live in the states and am a Cousin to Ian Arnold, Belize has become a haven for predators, murders and the lawless. The word of God says “the law is for the lawless” where is the law? I’ve never been embarrassed of where I’m from but, if those in authority or have the ability to help make a change, what will become of them. We need to take a take a look at the youth’s in Belize. It’s a shame but, this will no longer be the place that I once considered home. Believe it or not America is not the place to be, many of us here in the US are trying to make it to get back where we came from because we LOVE that land called Belize. What will we have to come back to? I serve a just GOD! Innocent or not only Ian and My Father above Knows who pulled the trigger and I’m satisfied that he saw the face of his murderer… In the End whosoever is Guilty, he and he alone on this earth knows. But, GOD gave us all a conscience and he said in his word “everything has a season “my family and I are praying that the “Season of Murder” will pass from Belize and a renewed sense of Vision will be placed in the hearts of the young men of Belize because without a Vision his people will perish. Deeann, you are in denial but that is well expected of the family members of a murderer. While you his aunt and the rest of his family can easily overlook and forgive him for what he did, the rest of us owes him no symphaty and should hold him responsible for what he did, and hope we get the death penalty for the heartless crime that he commited.
Not once that i hear you say “sorry” for what your nephew has done, you showed no remorsed nor respect for the life or the family of the person your nephew murdered. So, why should i give a darn weather your nephew rot in jail, or hang by the neck till he is dead.
Fortunately for him the two death wishes stated above were not of my choice, my death wish for this monster is much, much worse.
