Man released and then re-indicted for murder

Story PictureThere was plenty of drama in court today when Kent Pandy stepped out of the dock after he was told by Justice Herbert Lord that he could go. But Pandy did not have time to savour his freedom as C.I.B. officers immediately nabbed him for an allegation that he threatened one of the witnesses involved in the case. Pandy was in court for the murder of eighteen year old Allen Sutherland and was brought back before Justice Lord this afternoon and re-indicted for murder. The trial has been set for October twenty-ninth. Sutherland was fatally stabbed in the neck on the night of November twentieth, 2006 on Boots Crescent. The prosecution, represented by Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lynn Banker-Taitt, alleged that Sutherland went to Pandy’s house to retrieve a video game and when he left without it, Pandy followed him and stabbed him. A nolle prosequi was entered because the witnesses were reluctant to come to court. Trial began on Monday and four witnesses had testified before the prosecution decided to throw in the towel. Pandy was represented by Attorney Hubert Elrington.
