PUP sets date for National Convention
The National Party Council of the PUP will meet this Saturday morning at Independence Hall as scheduled. In fact we have learnt that twenty-nine of the thirty-one constituencies have already sent in the names of their delegates. Interestingly, Said Musa from Fort George and Francis Fonseca from Freetown, two of the five parliamentarians who on Thursday opposed an early national convention and Saturday’s meeting of the NPC, have now submitted the names of their delegates. On Thursday after he briefly met with the opposing parliamentarians at his Belize City office, Briceno headed to meet with the western caucus to secure their endorsement. But on Saturday, he can expect heat on the date for the upcoming national convention and on the number of voting delegates per constituency that can vote in party elections. The chain of the tumultuous events has further fractured the already divided PUP. It started when the Northern Caucus issued a release on Tuesday that twenty-two chairpersons signed on to support Briceno as leader. And when word went out that Briceno was planning an early convention and a meeting of the NPC, the five parliamentarians led by Deputy Party Leader Mark Espat, rejected the plan but Briceno is not backing off. Still the date of the national convention is yet to be determined.
I do not know why Musa is still in the PUP, He is still hurting the party, he should not be involved, the pup will loose another term is musa keeps on being in the PUP, I understand that he won but he should be in any way involved in the decision making for the PUP. He needs to be removed. He is Hurting the PUP. Come on Briceno if you want to win the next election stop using musa, he era is done, that is why the last pup goverment lost the elections.
Boys, put your horses back in the stables & stop the pissing contest. A house divided will fall, you fell, now pick yourselves up, act like men & negotiate in good faith. Better yet, step aside & let the women take over or did your egos run most of them off?.
Main I tell you these people are focusing on said musa,
what’s wrong with these people. Can you As a belizean imagine what dean barrow and the udp are doing. Dean barrow is the one that we should focus on. Where are the things that he promise the belizean people. None. These things were been start by said musa and was almost done wen these udp take over in office. All the things were been built under Said Musa, not dean barrow but now trying to make a good name for their self.
we belizean remember what you promise us mr. Barrow but none of the are been delivered. You are now saying Belize is going under reccession . Mr barrow trying to be smart but no of are fool like Him.
Dean barrow is just holding our money and paying and hiring his sweet heart lice. Belizean remember my words, just in time before the 2013 general election Dean Evil Barrow will declare that the reccession is over and will try to work but too late.
Mark has the charisma and popularity to be an effective eader. Johnny is drap, boring and can’t give a speech to save his life.
