The root of community spirit in day two of free haircuts
Last week Friday we ran a story about a free back to school haircut program. The event was the brainchild of Channel Five’s very own Master Control Operator, Brian Dena. In addition to his hectic work schedule, Dena found time to give back to the youths who want a free haircut. This afternoon News Five stopped by 4323 Faber’s Road where the barbers were working diligently to make the kids look their best for school.

“It’s a been very overwhelming feeling. Yesterday I went round going for some kids, we got twenty. This morning we got a van from my friend Buggy, we used his van to go and circle round and we got thirteen. This morning we got an amount this morning so between yesterday and today a total of fifty-two so far.”
Jose Sanchez
“You have more kids to plan to give this free haircut to?”
Brian Dena
“Tomorrow morning we are planning to have the children from Children’s Home coming over tomorrow.”
The spirit of giving flowed from the barbers to others across the old capital.

“I would like to say thanks these people that supported me: Martin Griffith, Bernard Nunez, Atlantic Insurance, Nicole Clother, Wayne Baldwin, Arabella Grant for the Inspirational Words, CFR Diner, Boots Martinez, Tony’s Grocery, Francisco Cuellar, and also Buggy for supporting us with the transportation and music.”
Jose Sanchez
“So you actually went around in a vehicle looking for kids?”
Brian Dena
“Yes sir cause, instead of having them to come, I prefer to go and look for them myself so I know that I can reach my amount that I really want to reach, which is the total of a hundred.

What you guys are doing to help out your community is overwhelming to us as well, thanks for taking the time to be an inspiration to your commnunity.
someone is appreciating you guys today.
Be well.
Good job Brian, there are a lot of decent, hardworking people in the area & they are often overlooked because of all the unsavory stuff that happens occasionally. If you are one of the shining examples of young men with roots to Fabers Road, again thank you for looking back.
ANOTHER POSITIVE STORY. PRAISE BE TO JAH. GOOD CITIZENS OF BELIZE STAND UP AND UNITE, LETS STOP MAKING THE CRIMINALS RUN US DOWN.
I think what these guys are doing is a very positive and it’s about time some young Belizean men do something positive for their community or the country, the other guys should learn from this.
