Freed of charges for molesting minor; a friend told the child to lie

A Belize City father was today freed of a charge of Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature which brought his reputation in disrepute. As it turned out, the malicious ploy was perpetrated by a friend of the alleged victim’s mother. Forty-two year old Dalesmon Lewis was accused in April of molesting a seven year old girl. The child reported that she was asleep and was awakened by Lewis who took her into the living room of her house and touched her inappropriately. In court this morning, however, the child’s mother took the stand and told the Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer that she did not want to proceed with the charges against Lewis because she found out that the little girl had lied. The minor also confessed that a friend of her mother’s persuaded her to tell the lies about Lewis. With that the matter was struck out and Lewis, who maintained his innocence all along, was free to go. The child will now be getting counselling through the Social Services Department.

I do not believe this story at all.
How many times have we seen mothers of rape victims wasted the court time by saying that you do not want to proceed with the charges brought aginst those monsters that commited such sinful crimes against children.
who is protecting our children? no one, really.
This only tells me that society is a history of cruelty without compassion for the weak
Was this man Mr Lewis at the Victim’s home on the said date and time that she alledged this incident occured?Or did this kid’s mother took a bribe.My reason for asking this question is because it took this lady so long to come to the defense of Mr Lewis.
so i guess we can now charge the friend and the child? if this story is true, a lesson must be taught to all culprits involved!
The mother should be charged and the mother’s friend should be charged to get to the bottom of this story. I must agree with a previous comment, that the child needs to be protected!! Either the mother is taking a bribe or is being threatened. Who defends the child now from either this individual or the “so called” person who told her to lie? Bottom line, someone is abusing this child, and it seems to be pointing now to the mother being an accomplice too.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! People should be charged for making a joke of the system!

This sounds a bit suspicious…now how would we know what the truth is? And if he is innocent, how will he clear his name?
i think that this case should be well investigate the woman for bringing the man to court for a lie and the so called friend also. if in case this abuse really occur then they also should investigate why she change all of a sudden to call of the case off. court should make a good investigation as why people change mind like this case.
This also shows that our Court System is out of order.Come on now judges so are you guys saying that i can assault someone .Charges are filed against me and two months later i meet this said individual buy him or her a bottle of Campari,this individual appear for court and tell you guys not to charge me and the case is closed.Is this what is happening in Belize?Then guess what Mr Barrow you’ve got alot to restore.As a result you better start restoring now.
Sounds like the mother got paid off to me. Not surprised mothers have been doing this forever they protect their man instead of their child as long as they get paid and get their man, Nothing new.
This kid’s mother said she wasn’t molested so why are they recomending counselling ?what are they going to counsel this innocent kid about?Smells like Talapia to me.
IF WE (individually) START KEEPING THE 10 COMMANDMENTS………Belize would improve dramatically.
where is the the report from the social worker and the investigating officer, this is what makes or breaks these cases not a verbal account of a child 6 months after the event.
Either way, this child needs counseling. At seven, we were playing marbles, statue, cricket, baseball, hopscotch & hoped the hat pepa when we were skipping wasn’t too hot & the rope didn’t hit us. What has this poor child been exposed to so that she can tell a story that convinced adults & the medical staff who checked her that she was telling the truth?. I believe the ugly mutha sucka molested this child & her stupid mother took ten pounds of rice & some boledo tickets to make this child change her story & emerge a sociopath or perennial victim.
Unless this child is removed, she will be pimped out again until she gets knocked up & we’ll be screaming about her delinquent children in 20 years.
lock her mom up so she can see how it feels to be put behind bars.
