Reshuffle of the B.D.F.’s top brass
There are significant changes in the top brass of the Belize Defence Force; three senior commanders have been reassigned. Lieutenant Colonel Ganney Dortch, a familiar face, has vacated the Chief of Staff assignment and has taken on the post of Commanding Officer of the Second Infantry Battalion. Dortch is fully in charge of operations in the Western Tactical Area of Responsibility in Belize. Dortch takes over from Lieutenant Colonel Steven Ortega at the battalion headquarters in Cayo. Ortega now moves to Price Barracks as the new Commanding Officer of the Services and Support Battalion, responsible for all logistical support of the B.D.F. He takes over from Lieutenant Colonel David Jones. So what hat does Jones wear now? He’s the new Chief of Staff of the B.D.F. and Public Relations Officer. A release from the Ministry of Defence and Immigration says the shuffle is the result of a planned rotation of appointments.

Will this make us ANY SAFER????????????
