Ben the Builder and Benita shopped at Benny’s to construct superstore

The opening of any business in the current economic climate is an occasion to celebrate and more so when the investment runs in the millions of dollars. The new home of Ben and Benita is also a towering landmark at the northern entrance of the City. It is equipped with state of the art technology making it among the most modern buildings in Belize that will transform the hardware and construction industries. The media got a tour today of the multimillion dollar building today and according to Sean Feinstein, Director of the Benny’s group of companies, the best way to showcase the products they carry, is by putting them to good use. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

“We basically built this location to consolidate our administration, which is the tower you see in the front and of course what you’re looking at here is the store itself.  We’ve expanded into other lines than we have done in the past and we have made certain lines that we currently have better, deeper with more products to offer. This store has a couple different features going on.  The ground floor has a large self service area with a lot of our products, new products and old products.  But what we did not want to get away from, in the past Benny’s has always been known for the training and expertise of its staff.  People go to Benny’s because they know they’re gonna meet somebody, speak with someone that knows what they’re talking about and they can assist them.  We didn’t lose that.  There is still our counter service which stretches the entire length of the store right below us.  So there is still that one on one the customer can get by going up to their favorite sales personnel and get assistance.”

“We try to sell the best quality that we can so the names that we’re doing, we’re doing American standard.  We’re doing Kohler, we’re doing PGT windows, Weather Shield windows, Hunter fans etc., GE appliances.  So this second floor here has its departments set up; windows, we have our tile gallery.  You know in the past we’ve always have our tiles displayed in a decent sized area but now it’s called the Tile Gallery and it looks like a gallery.  It’s all displayed nice and neat and with suggested designs.  We have a large appliance center over there, a kitchen section, a bath section and I would say the largest light and fan section that we’ve done so far.

“We’ve been reducing our prices for many weeks now for various reasons: prices going down worldwide because of the worldwide recession, you know, people have to become more competitive. We’ve been looking at the specific items and trying to be very competitive with those items so overall almost everything is coming down so you can expect to see lower prices here.”

The building will be fully opened for business on Saturday.

    WOW……. This is good news.

  2. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

Good, this is what was needed in belize for so long. Good, safe structural shops with separate departments, and more products to offer thier customers.
While on vacation in belize last december I had to drive several times all the way from San Ignacio to do some shopping in hostile belize city at Broodies on Alber street, shopping at those small shops was a no, no for us, everthing was limited with bad survice on top of that.
I prefered to drive miles away to get good, decent service in a well equiped shop.
This is a very good idea, putting it list next time we go to belize.

  3. rod says:

  8. belamaresident says:

please be reminded that that stretch of the Northern Highway is a killing field no less than 6 fatal accidents in the past 2 years. this new expanded business will only add to the traffic madness. there is no median painted on the highway. left turns into Bennys will create more problems. Ministry of Works and Traffic Dept need to address this area. How much more must die!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Dread says:

Seriously? A freaking escalator? Way over the top. Much too excessive. Benny’s should’ve invested their money in charity instead. Who needs such excess when shopping for bloodih construction supplies!!!!!!

    RIDICULOUS!

  10. Edith says:

  11. sabuskii says:

i can see ghetto people just going to bennys with their children for escalator rides lol fo real lol bennys should put a collecting person bcuz he could make more money off escalator rides than construction material being bought lol

  12. So Disappointed says:

Dread please open your mind Belizeans deserve 21rst century stores too. Thank you Benny’s for thinking of people that cannot walk up stairs and want to shop.

  13. Dread says:

But for construction supplies?? come on mein.

UM, Disappointed, an elevator is acutally better accomodating for people who can’t walk!!!!!

Ever seen someone in a wheelchair go up an escalator????

  14. Dread says:

And, Belizeans don’t need everything dictated by 21st century industrial country trends!

  15. Dread says:

A big fancy construction supply store alongside a pot-hole ridden highway is AMUSING!

  16. Dread says:

As for jobs? WOW. “Here, sir, what kind of paint would you like today?” WOW. Great JOBS!!!!

Deh people have suh much money, deh nuh know weh fuh duh with it.

  17. UHC IC says:

How come people question when Mennonites succeed – speculating tax evation and such??

How come nobody asks how Benny’s is able to succeed – where do they get their money from ??

  18. belamaresident says:

how much more must die before an overpass is built!!Ahighway between Brodies and Bennys, check the chaos between 12 and 1 when all the employees are out for lunch

  19. UHC IC says:

    Nice never the less!

  20. Dread says:

    Caz deh fraaaaaaaaaid, UHC!!!!!!

  21. Dread says:

But I nuh wah mess with the Mennonites UHC IC, mih food way more important than dih mek fancy house to me. At the end a day, ah need mih food.

  22. Ms Know-it-All says:

Benny’s Enterprise Ltd is providing many new jobs for the Belizean community. More jobs means more opportunity and less idle people on the streets who blames poverty for their actions in criminal activity.

It takes Benny’s to raise the bar so that other stores can provide it customers with a good and clean setting.

Believe or not, construction is one of the most busy job sector in the country. Not only does Benny’s provide construction material, the products they supply are limitless from economical brand name fans, to mattress, coffee makers, etc. Perhaps, Dread should visit the store than make blind fictitious comments without hard facts.

Plus, It is about time that Belizeans get a treat and of course, there will be cynical persons who mocks improvements in the country’s infrastructural status quo.
