Nigeymon Bevans now faces rape and kidnapping charges
In other news from the courts, last month charges of Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Imprisonment were struck out against Nigeymon Bevans because the case file was not available. Bevans was a free man then, but he has been picked up by police and new charges of Rape and Kidnapping have been placed against him in relation to the same incident. The case goes back to September twenty-eighth, 2007 when Bevans’ ex-common law wife reported to the police that a taxi picked her up to take her to meet a friend with whom she had a date. But instead of going to her destination, the driver took her to Dolphin Street and when the car stopped, Bevans got in and showed her a pistol. She told police that Bevans directed the taxi man to his apartment and when they got there Bevans forced her at gunpoint to go in. She said Bevans imprisoned her for three days and raped her on the second day. On the third day, the woman said Bevans took her to the home of the friend she had the date with and left her there. Bevans was offered bail of five thousand dollars and his case was adjourned until October thirtieth.
