Teenagers face the courtroom on separate burglary charges
A teenager barely escaped going to prison when he pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary this morning. Eighteen year old Justin Faber broke into the home of Odessa Reneau in Sandhill early Monday morning and stole a speaker, cell phone and sixty dollars in cash. Faber begged Magistrate Emmerson Banner for leniency, saying that he was a first time offender and that it will never happen again. He also explained that he only wanted to get back what was his and claimed that Reneau had stolen his cell phone. Since Faber had no previous convictions, Magistrate Banner imposed a fine of two thousand, five hundred dollars of which he had to pay five hundred forthwith and the balance by October thirty-first. If he defaults on payment, he will spend two and half years in prison.
Another eighteen year old was charged with Burglary today. But he’s no first time offender. In fact, Gregory Goodfellow was out on bail for robbery when he allegedly broke into the home of Amide Ortiz in Ladyville between May twenty-third and twenty-fourth. Goodfellow is accused of stealing an assortment of jewelry, clothing, cell phones and appliances valued at four thousand eight hundred and twenty-five dollars. He was denied bail when court prosecutor, Sergeant Clinton Magdaleno objected on the grounds that he was on bail when he committed the crime. Goodfellow was remanded to the Central Prison in Hattieville until October sixth.

Once a thief/burglar always a thief.
if you send this idiot to jail, he will come out a much better criminal.
Force him to get job and get his act straight, for Gregory shoot this idiot in the head.
it is all about preventing future crimes and murders, sacrifice a few.
Mr Faber you have been given another chance, now lets hope we never see you again in the media for this reason. If there is a second occasion, lets hope its something we’re all congratulating you for.
Maybe the DPP should be charged for incompitence and waste of tax-dollars since they can’t convict anyone.
I would personally chop off their hands and let that be a reminder of the crime they committed. Put them back into the streets and they will continue to do the same thing over and over again.
Magistrate Banner, hope you havent let this Faber guy go so he can commit another crime. As for Goodfellow, he has a name to keep but he seems doesnt care. Goodfellow, what a joke….hope u stay da ramada for a few years. Learn fu work…lazy as..
Mr Faber said he’s a first time thief…yeah right…it’s the first time he got caught! All these lazy @…. do are prey on the backs of hard-working-honest people and still when their @….. end up at the prison hard-working-taxpaying people still have to take care of them. B1oody h3ll! we still da the victim any which way yu put it.
WE NEED TO ADD ‘hard labour” TO THESE PRISON SENTENCES.
