Gang rivalry spills to Hattieville Prison
Gang rivalry has apparently spilled into prison life and an inmate at the Hattieville Prison is recuperating from injuries he suffered after a fight with another prisoner, reportedly over an old beef. Reports to News Five say that Lester Young, who is on remand, got involved in a brawl around eleven on Wednesday morning with Denfield Bennett. The fight took place in the Remand/Tango Six Section of the facility over an old dispute. Young was stabbed with a piece of glass in the left arm and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. The Prison facility is currently undergoing construction of another building which, when completed will be able to accommodate an additional one hundred and twenty cells and six hundred more inmates. Today the prison is home to fourteen hundred and forty seven prisoners.
