In the courts, a nineteen year old was charged with the Attempted Murder of two police officers after a shooting around eight o’clock on Tuesday night. The officers, Abel Mendez and Abelio Itza, both of the Mahogany Street sub-station, were responding to a report of a robbery in progress on Partridge Street. On their way to the scene, the officers came across two men on riding a single bicycle and heading in their direction. One of them, who was on the bicycle handle, jumped off and ran into a nearby yard while the other pulled out a gun and fired at the police vehicle. Itza returned fire but both men escaped. Meanwhile, Mendez was hit to the left arm and right shoulder and had to be rushed to the K.H.M.H. Lloyd Elijio was charged with Attempted Murder, Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm when he appeared today before Magistrate Albert Hoare. He was remanded to prison until October thirteenth. The second suspect has not yet been arrested, but police know his identity.

Living like barbarians, without any civilized influences, and they should be sentenced without any mercy of man.
His punishment should be severe or a harsh penalty for trying to kill an officer of the law, the punishment should be so harsh that it will served as a rude awakening to the rest of the uncivilized beasts out there.
I think these fools are doing this for bragging rights. Damn the rest of the community.
A few weeks ago in this same area, someone killed a witness they knew was not going to testify. To hammer the point home, they took out someone they assumed witnessed that murder. In the last two weeks, they shot up a house in this area & this week these two idiots tried to murder two Officers. I still believe that there is a fate worse than death, make them disappear. And Broaster, that hot water trick wasn’t what I had in mind, I am partial to the Haulover Creek special & cremation.
give this fool at least 35yrs in jail judges you must send a strong message that if you shoot at a police officer you will be put away for a long longggggggggggggg time for tryiny to kill a police officer or you might be next judges you might be nextttttttttttttttttttt.
Hang him in jail and tell us he commited suicide please

bix, i got your point, and i like it, fake it like since the dpp can’t gather evidence properly and say suicide motive after you hang them, or i’ll let them lose on the compound and make them run and shoot them to say, shot becuase of escaping prison grounds. come on please help us eliminate them as soon as possible.
Why is it this time that these crimminals were arrested quickly.is it because an officer was shot. How about when civilians r shot or killed nothing is done and it goes unsolved.hopefully this officer doesn,t suffer from amnesia. Or he will get special treatment and be protected.
Belizean Boy, you sound just like the regular criminal on the street weh do wrong and expect that the police or citizens do nothing about it. They are paid to do their job and even though some are rogue, most police officers are hard working and risk their lives to save ur as..
So my advise to you, if you are not a criminal and just dont know what to comment, best you keep your mouth shut.
