Safiyyah brings pre-Independence weekend happenings

Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s happening Belize?

This weekend marks the beginning of the end for September celebrations 2010. So if you weren’t getting into the September Spirit before this is your last chance.

The Expo fair has become a huge event of the September celebrations that thousands and thousands of Belizeans look forward to each year. They visit the market place hoping to receive great deals and promotions and find out what new products are available in Belize. It doesn’t hurt that there is great food and good company either. This weekend the Expo Belize will be held in a new location, the ITVET Facility formally the Technical High Building located on Freetown road. As usual the fair will run both Saturday and Sunday so make sure you head over there and get in on those great promotions and giveaways.

Let me fill all you party goers in on the places you need to check out this weekend. Tonight if you are out went then you can head over to the Parque De Las Americas in San Martin, Belmopan. They will be having Latino night. The fun will run from 7pm until Midnight. And after that if you are still in the mood for more Latin Music then you can head over to the E & L Bar, also in Belmopan where they will be celebrating Central Americas Independence. The music will be provided by DJ Super Mario. All you Latino Music lovers might wanna check that out.

On Saturday night here in Belize City there will be a huge Belize-USA link up bash called The International Black and White Affair. This bash will be held inside Palm Island.  DJs like KrossFyah GTS Entertainment, Finess World, Tagg International and Belizean movements will all be in attendance. As well as artists like Berne Aziactic and Linda Blease. There will be giveaways all night.

As expected the 20th night will be jammed packed with activities to do all over the country. There will be Independence Eve Ceremonies and Fireworks Displays in every district. So make sure you keep the kids awake for them to enjoy it. There will also be block parties in Orange Walk, San Pedro, and Benque. There will even be a free Dance in Corozal at the Andres Campos Civic Center.

Her e in Belize City on the 20th night there are three huge bashes and more going down. The first is taking place inside Club Next. This pre-Independence bash will feature none other than Tony Matterhorn. The event will be hosted by Black Love Sound from New York. There will also be a performance by Belize’s very own Mr Program. Music will be provided by Federation 501 Sound, DJ Motion, Mr Frisco and others.

The next party spot in Belize City will be the Renaissance Tower where they will be having a VIP inclusive Bash. This means that you pay one price and you drink and eat for free all night. The party will be hosted by DJ Special and Tagg International. For more information you can call 670-3898.

And finally here in the city you can check out the Tropicana Lounge inside the Fort Street Plaza, where they will be having their own Independence Eve Bash. This event will feature Stone Jam, Belizean Movements, Dignatariz and Frisco.

In celebration of our Independence there will again be plenty to do all over the country.  After all the Official business is done with, it’ll be time to let loose and have fun. There will be a grand carnival parade in Orange Walk and a jump up in Benque and San Pedro. There will be lots of block parties with food, drinks and merriment. So make sure you head out and enjoy our country’s Independence.
