Viewers support curfew and raids to clamp down on crime

After Thursday’s call for a shutdown to speak out against crime and violence and the senseless murder especially of eight year old Eyannie Nunez… we put forward the question: Do you support draconian measures such as curfew and raids to clamp down on criminals? Well the results are in and a resounding majority voted in favor of draconian measures. Eighty-seven percent voted yes while thirteen percent said, “No.”  One respondent commented: “If raids target the known criminals, then absolutely I will support them. But if they just go after ordinary citizens and “little fish”, it will not help anything.” While another remarked: “These are desperate times in Belize. Crime is rampant, criminals move around with impunity, the Judiciary is in disarray. Desperate times call for desperate actions.”

As long as these raids are done properly, don’t forget to put into the equation the percentage of dirty stinking cops that are in the force and will probably tip off the gangsters in advance make sure that no phone calls are made once the location is given.
