William Martinez: murder victim # 98

The weekend’s fourth murder was reported in the south. William Martinez, is murder victim number ninety-eight. Martinez, who worked on a banana farm, was found dead in his room at the Barracks where the farm workers are housed. He was hacked several times with a machete and left to die. It has since been revealed that he was involved in an altercation with a Honduran National. Police Press Officer, Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood says they are looking for one suspect.

“Police visited farm number four, a little out of Independence Village around six-thirty yesterday evening. This is on Sunday, the nineteenth of September, where they saw the lifeless body of William Martinez, twenty-eight year old Salvadoran suffering from chop wounds, apparently dead. Initial investigations reveal that Martinez was involved in a fight with Jose Bonilla, a thirty-two year old Honduran National. It is believed that Jose inflicted these wounds to him. Presently, we are searching for Bonilla, who we believe could shed some light into this recent murder.”

“What kind of injuries did Mr. Martinez suffer?”

“Well, he received injuries to the head, the back of the neck, the left shoulder and left arm.”

“Is this a very populated area. Did a lot of people see what happened?”
Sgt. Fitzroy Yearwood
“It’s a barrack room. It is believed that other workers from the farm reside in that barrack. How many people actually live there, I cannot tell you a certain amount but I know that it’s used to house the employees of the farm.”

“Are you expecting charges to be brought against Bonilla?”

“Well, like I said, we are hoping that he can assist us in shedding some light in this investigation.”

“You have any idea what the fight was all about?”
Sgt. Fitzroy Yearwood
“That I cannot say. When we interview Mr. Bonilla then we will be able to say that.”
The perp is probably already back in his country.
