Councilor promises to address flooding situation in Belama

There may be some relief in sight; that is if the Belama Phase Three residents are not being fed another empty promise. City Councilor responsible for streets on the North Side, Eric Chang, told us they already have plans in place to alleviate the problem in the coming weeks and then a provide more permanent fix to the flooding.

“During the recent lot of rains and so on the street is terrible. I personally took the City Engineer, Works Manager and the City Administrator up there several times. We kind of financially strapped but we got confirmation from the financial controller that we are able to manage top get some money to put some material and fix the street, probably around two weeks time.”

“So the flooding should not be a problem as it is now?”

“We have a plan to put in certain culverts to divert the water drainage problem up there and after that then we’ll put in the material on top of the culvert and that should solve the problem.”
