Increased B.D.F. & Police patrol on streets over wet weekend
If you feel you need to move out of your homes and weather the storm at a hurricane shelter but are worried about the safety of your belongings, frequent police patrols are planned. Staff Officer at the Raccoon Street Police Station, Superintendent Simeon Alvarez, says the police will work along with the Belize Defense Force to prevent burglaries and robberies.
Supt. Simeon Alvarez, Staff Officer, Raccoon St. Police Station
“We’ll have police officers deployed in different parts of the city, hurricane shelters and at the gas stations and other different business places that will open until certain time. When the hurricane is about to reach a time will be given for them to lock down. But we definite will have police deployed, along with the soldiers in different parts of the city. Our role at the different shelters is actually to maintain law and order.”
Message to the PM:
Keep this patrol for some considerable amount of time. Lets really restore Belize, and bring back old Belizean way of life where children went to school, mothers/fathers went to work, the neighbours clip children around the ears if they were naughty and then reported you to your mother who also instructed you to get the belt. Sounds tough but the adults who experienced this are well disciplined, respectful citizens of this country.
Policemen like “Tablada”,had this city peaceful. If you were riding your bike with no light, being rowdy in the streets and someone mentioned Tablada, every one walk straight, and behaved. Anyone walked the streets at 2am safe in the knowledge you’d reach home. The mamby pamby – human rights lawyers have to take some ownsership for this situation in our country. So Keep them in the streets for a very long time. After all Mexico keeps their soldiers on the streets permanently, on the buses and in public buildings. Finally long sentencing for gun possessions, for murder life, and for rape of a minor a very long time.
Maybe you haven’t notice that crime is out of control regardless of the Increased B.D.F. & Police patrol on streets.
So, even if we take it a notch down that seem more fitting to our police/BDF qualifications what makes you assumed that are now able to prevent burglaries and robberies on a weekend such as this one.
I wait with inspiration for a good and decent change in my people, and my country; therefore my time will not be wasted.
the culture of lawyers and politicians is not working for us,and we need to it change it before we to the dirt
EVEN THOUGH THIS MAY NOT AFFECT THE CRIME RATE, IT’S GOOD TO HEAR THAT BOTH THE POLICE AND THE BDF WON’T BE LAZING AROUND MUCH ANYMORE.
SPENDING TAX PAYERS MONEY ON MEN WHO JUST WARE UNIFORM FOR NO GOOD REASON.
STRIPPERS WEAR UNIFORMS AND I BET THAT THEY SHOW MORE PRODUCTIVITY FOR THEIR JOBS THAN OUR DEFENSE SYSTEM.
It should be extended to EVERY WEEK-END…… starting on FRIDAY NITE.
