New Ambassador to Cuba is accredited
While Cuba is recovering from a string of hurricanes, Belize today accredited its new ambassador to the island. Said “Badi” Guerra presented his Letters of Credentials to Julio Almeira, Vice President of Cuba and delivered a personal message from Prime Minister Dean Barrow to Almeira, reiterating Belize’s solidarity with the government and people of Cuba for the devastation caused by hurricanes in recent weeks. Both government officials reaffirmed their commitment for strengthening ties between the two countries. One of the most significant programmes with Cuba is in the area of education in which hundreds of Belizean students have benefitted from scholarships.
