Will phone tapping deter crime?

Last week, legislation was passed in the House of Representatives to legalize the controversial wiretapping of telephone calls or the interception of communications. On Tuesday we asked our viewers to weigh in on whether or not such measures will deter crime as is proposed by the government. Sixty-nine percent of our viewers thought it will not while the remaining thirty-one percent said it will. According to one of viewers on our e-poll, “The government doesn’t have a system in place or personnel of strong moral values who will not use such technology to get in everybody’s business and cause even greater problems.”

    no it will not work!!! for the criminals don’t register their phone # WITH THE COMPANY. SO HOW WILL THE GOVERMENT KNOW WHAT # TO TAP? remember everyone has a pripayed phone that can be gotten anywhere…..
