Bail granted to woman accused of attempted murder
She was remanded to Prison on Thursday for Attempted Murder, but tonight Elisa Chan is out on bail. This morning Justice Adolph Lucas, offered the twenty-two year old bail of seven thousand, five hundred dollars after her attorney, Ellis Arnold, made an application to the Supreme Court, submitting that she is the mother of a baby girl and that it was her first offence. D.P.P. Cheryl Lynn Branker-Taitt did not oppose. Chan was ordered to report every week to the police station, as well as, not interfere with the complainant, twenty-three year old Kadijah Castillo. Castillo reported to police that she was on her way home, when Chan got out of a black vehicle and stabbed her several times with a knife. Castillo is still in the K.H.M.H. in a critical condition suffering from internal bleeding from the wounds made by Chan to her arm, rib cage, abdomen and right hand. Chan is scheduled to return to court on October seventh.
