Taiwan to G.O.B.: $25.8 million in budgetary support
The government of Taiwan made good on its word to provide millions of dollars for budgetary support. A cheque for twenty-five million dollars which is the second installment of a grant for fifty million dollars for the period of 2008 to 2013 was handed over to PM Barrow by Taiwanese Ambassador Ting Joseph Shih in Belmopan. The Taiwanese representative also handed over another cheque for the sum of eight hundred and thirty-three thousand dollars for the second stage of a project to enhance the foreign ministries of SICA members who have relations with Taiwan. The funding was agreed to at the thirteenth Conference of Foreign Ministers from Central America and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
