Prison Officer robbed after stop at ATM
We reported last week on a robbery in which a thief jacked a woman on Cemetery Road shortly after she withdrew money from an automatic teller machine and then ran in the vicinity of Logwood Street. And on Monday yet another woman was targeted in a similar fashion when a jacker, who is believed to have been studying her movements, held her up and relieved her of the cash she had just withdrawn. Thirty-seven year old Prison Officer, Loretta Addaman, told police that she made her withdrawal of four hundred dollars at the Atlantic Bank Albert Street branch around ten on Monday morning. Addaman said after the transaction, she was walking on King Street but as she reached the intersection with West Street someone put a gun to her head back and ordered her to hand over money. When she told the thief that she had none, he responded that she did because he saw when she withdrew the cash. Fearing for her life, Addaman handed over the money and the robber rode off on a bike.
