No answers in case of murder victim 100

Police still have no clue as to who shot and killed twenty year old Carlos Sucuqui early Thursday morning.  Sucuqui had just arrived on West Canal and was about to set up his bicycle cart when he was shot.  A youth reportedly rode up and fired three shots, hitting Sucuqui in the back, abdomen and shoulder. According to reports, Sucuqui was gunned down in front of a fruit and vegetable shop where he started to work just a week ago. No one has come forward with information, even though at that hour other vendors are normally loading their produce on carts for sale. The incident happened in an area known for gang-related violence.  Sucuqui and his family migrated from Guatemala when he was a baby.  Two years ago, Sucuqui’s older brother, Abel, also a vegetable vendor, was killed in similar fashion during a robbery.

So what is new? Another senseless crime in Belize goes unpunished. My sympathies to the family….another young life cut short.
