Attorney says Immigration Officers could not meet bail
According to Attorney Simeon Sampson, who is representing Jason Daly, Lindsay Wade and Angelica Lima, because of the unusually late session, only one of his clients was able to meet bail.

“I have three clients that were arrested and charged by C.I.B. this morning for various charges for forgery of official immigration documents and facilitating the landing of Japanese with false visas. At the arraignment a while ago, there was no determination whether these matters are indictable or they could be tried summarily. In the meantime, the matter has been adjourned until the fourteenth of December and bail has offered in the sum of twenty thousand dollars or two of ten thousand dollars for three people and Mister Lindsay Wade, he got bail in the sum of five thousand dollars or two of two thousand five. So that being the smallest of the bail, Mister Wade was able to be set free a while ago. The rest will have to get their bail situation sorted out in the morning.”

“Will remain overnight. This was too late this evening. We came to court at half past four. Very unfortunate and we were not allow to see our clinets this afternoon when they were in custody.”

“They said, we have no immigration officers here.”
No Customs Officers have yet been charged.
WHAT ELSE CAN WE THE PEOPLE EXPECT?? THIS CASE AS MANY OTHERS DEALING WITH PUBLIC SERVANTS WILL BE THROWN UNDER THE RUG AND WILL REMAIN UNSOLVED WITH THESE PEOPLE MAINTAINING THEIR JOBS. THEY SHOULD BE DISMISSED FROM THEIR DUTIES NO QUESTIONS ASKED. IT’S RIDICILOUS HOW OUR COURT SYSTEM WORKS; ADJOURN, ADJOURN, ADJOURN, CASE DISMISSED….
This job must pay extremely well or we finally found Mr. Sampson soft spot & he is doing some pro bono work.

Nothing will come out of this. Last week the news stated one of the officers was transferred to another location. What a stupid thing to do that’s not a punishment he was sent to where he wanted to go. He was rewarded. This Leaders of the Government are so stupid.
These are the same officers who gives Belizean going home for vacation a hard time. I was going home for my father’s funeral in village no electricity took two coleman lamps and some other lights and they charge me.They did not ask one white person what they had in their bags. They let them go right through.
shame on these public servants, they were trusted with the position given to them but greed cause them to sell them backside to the devil for money, now that same money have to buy them freedom.
The same thing happen in san pedro a few weeks ago, these people should be ashamed,

Just follow the smell; this definitely goes higher than these guys. They were the mules not the master mind. They should be charged with deriliction of duty. The bigger cheese should be charged with the human trafficking and also with a crime against the State.

THIS ISN’T THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED, ITS JUST UNFORTUNATE FOR THEM THAT THEY GOT CAUGHT. THE WAY I C IT THEY COULDN’T DO IT ALONE, SO Y NOT ARREST CUSTOMS, CIVIL AVIATION, POLICE AND BAHA CAUSE ALL WERE INFORMED ABOUT THE FLIGHT. ESPECIALLY CIVIL AVIATION SINCE D PLANE HAD TO GET AUTHORITY TO LAND. YES THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED BUT WHO WOULD HAVE STAYED THERE ALL NIGHT SINCE NO TRANSLATOR WAS AT HAND? Y NOT JUST TAKE THE INFO THEY HAVE AND FULL OUT THE FORM? Y IS THIS FLIGHT SUCH A BIG ISSUE AND IT’S NOT THE FIRST TO B BROUGHT INTO THE AIRPORT. I GUESS SOMEONE DIDN’T GET HIS/HER CUT AND THAT’S THE REASON Y THE NEWS WAS BROKEN.
I totally agree with you bzeangel. Aviation had to know the situation. I strongly believe someones got cut off for this to come out on air and video too. Please these damn ministers are all involved in this crap. it all starts from the top. The employer always knows and always gives the example of doing such things. I also, agree that the minister of defense should also be arrested for not being on top of things. PUP, this…. UDP, this…… they are all filled with damn corruption. Unfortunately the public servants pay in full for such act. nothing is done never…… Look at the contraband at the borders. Are any customs being scandalized this way?????? NO WAY!!!!
I say no bail and lock all these ……. up until trial. Hope they spend a long time in jail. Make an example out of these corrupted people. Seems like money can buy anyone and anything in Belize.
If these officers have been doing these illegal activities, how come they can’t even get bail. I’m surprised at Jason wow, his mother brought him up better than that. These officers should b ashamed if themselves, this is high treason!
