Body of murdered man found on Roaring River Road
Even before the extended holiday weekend started, two men were murdered in gruesome fashion. The homicides took place in rural communities; the first body was found on Roaring River Road about two miles off the Hummingbird Highway on Friday. Francisco Villanueva, a father of two who lived with his family in Las Flores Village on the Hummingbird Highway was killed and abandoned on a farm. Villanueva had left home sometime after six on Friday morning with a family friend to tend to his farm, but he never made it. Instead, his charred remains were discovered later that day when his friend became suspicious that trouble was amiss. News Five’s Marion Ali went in search of answers.
Marion Ali, Reporting
We located the last person who saw Francisco Villanueva alive, Ramon Quijada, working at the place they called home in Las Flores. He told us he heard the shots that killed his close friend.

“We went through the road together towards our farms and he told me to wait for him until he finished feeding his animals. I di wait and wait and he didn’t come back. I heard three shots, bow, bow, bow. Then I di holler for him – Francisco, Francisco, come. I di wait fi u. I waited for more than half an hour and he never come soh I come home and tell the family and we gone together gone tell the police.”
Villanueva’s sister-in-law, Emma Ramirez, says her relative’s killer also set him on fire. The homicide is a puzzle the family is still trying to solve.

“You knew him well. You were his sister-in-law. What do you think happened to him?”
We noh have no suspect because like how I seh. We neva see he with a friend, but when he use to go dah the market go sell fi he produce. So I noh know if he mi have any friends out there or enemies. So I noh know weh I coulda seh.”
Francisco Villanueva will be buried in Las Flores Village on Wednesday morning. He leaves behind two young children. Marion Ali for News Five.
No one accidentally puts three bullets in someone’s body & set them on fire. If he got burnt from “ya, down” the villagers have more than a clue, everyone knows everyone else’ business in small towns & vllages.
the Police should talk to is friend more closely…………..
three shots and burning is not just murder, this sounds like revenge. someone knows more than they are saying. what more does mr. quijada know?
this is sadly to read but God knows what exactly transpired, hope the famly finds comfort in the Lord and God will be the one to payback to the murder or muderers. Police need more investigation since people that work for a living and honest living are being killed either by jealousy or revenge, needs to be investigate fully.
