Man hit with 5 charges for shooting another man on the arm
A man who shot another man on his arm on Wednesday afternoon was today charged with Attempted Murder for the incident. Nineteen year-old Wilworth Williams of Mayflower Street was also slapped with Dangerous Harm, Grievous Harm, Use of Deadly Means of Harm, Possession of a Firearm without a gun license, and Possession of Ammunition without a license. No plea was taken from Williams because the charges are indictable. Nor could the court offer him bail because of the nature of the offences and so he will spend his first night behind bars tonight until September twenty-fifth. The incident occurred around twelve-thirty on Wednesday afternoon on Ebony Street and the victim, Osmond Mitchell, was hit once in the upper right arm. Reports say Mitchell and another man were involved in a gunfight earlier in the day. Police found a point thirty-eight calibre pistol on a rooftop on Ebony Street and believe it was the same gun with which Mitchell was shot.
