3 shot in PICAME Bar robbery, including one robber
Friday night’s third shooting incident occurred at nine-fifty-five on Mosul Street in Belize City. In less than five minutes three persons were shot during a botched robbery of PICAME Bar. According to the proprietor, Jose Santos, he was standing behind the bar when two persons entered wearing caps. One of the men jumped over the counter and attacked Santos, who pulled out his licensed point thirty-eight revolver. The other gunman opened fire but a police officer who was socializing at the bar, Corporal Carmelito Cawich, pulled out his firearm and shot at the second gunman who fled while firing several shots. At least six bullets penetrated the bar area of the club. Shawn Edwards, the other gunman who was struggling with the bar owner, was then shot to the testicle, navel, upper back and left shoulder. During the gunfire, twenty-three year old Guatemalan waitress, Xiomara Lopez, was shot to her left shoulder. The bar owner, Santos was lucky to receive a gunshot to the left hand and a graze to the left side of the ribcage. Lopez and Santos have been treated and released from the hospital. The accused robber, Shawn Edwards was admitted in critical condition and under police guard.

Alan…… Our Prime minister appointed his son Shyne Barrow as musical ambassador of Belize…..
Have you paid attention to the lyrics of his music??? All the obscenities and pro gang and drug abuse messages?? Do you really expect the PM to ban that type of Musicians [like his son] from Belize??
C’mon…. wake up… He makes his fortune defending thugs and gangsters…
why you thinks he willingly sits to dialogue with gang leaders instead of jailing them
but refuses to dialogue with the hardworking canieros???
He’s deep into this hiphop culture that is pushing our youths to gangs and criminality…!!!!
