PM visits Mexico
The Prime Minister’s office has been releasing details about the official visit of PM Dean Barrow in Mexico. Barrow is accompanied by his wife Kim as well as Minister of Education Patrick Faber. Earlier today Barrow met with Mexico’s President Felipe Calderón. Calderón who was accompanied by his wife, Margarita Zavala, led the official Welcome Ceremony for the Belize contingent. The welcome event was held on the Explanada Don Francisco I. Madero at the Official Los Pinos Residence. As part of the activities scheduled for the Official Visit, the two leaders issued media statements from the staircase of the Miguel Alemán.
the 23rd vacation this year while belizeans are being killed in their homes poor people have nothing to eat unemployment at 25percent one of the highest in central america and yet this pm stays in the best hotel in mexico spending the money of the poorest people in belize i dont know about anybody else but this makes me sick to my stomach barrow the slap we ina we face openly and we do nothing bout it well i hope hte poor people rise up and revolt because we cant take it no more .
Thanks Rod for keeping count!! Unu keep check ‘pon dis PM, respect!
Mr. Barrow can you get 2 helicopters and a few coast guard boats from Mexico….the helicopters are
to police the country as well as to intercept criminals swiftly and efficiently—-the coast guard boats
are to patrol the sea and to follow those big cruise ships that usually empty there trash into our
waters affecting our Barrier reef and marine life—Just a cheap request…
Cutty Ligiyaba Yes I agree, because Mexico will benefit from it too. Rod you should hook up with Common Sense sounds like an ideal match.
RadicalBelizean – I would eat my words if anything productive to Belize comes from this visit. Looking like another of the PM’s trips abroad (zero return on tax payer’s money). It would also be interesting to compare how many days away from Belmopan our gracious dictator spends in comparison to previous Prime Ministers.
I dont care if it is a UDP or PUP government, both are the same, both have miss used tax payers money for a personal grand lifestyle whilst real poverty and civil survival is becoming greater for the larger part of society.
cutty and radicalbelizean tha wey unu mi dey you no hear barrow say fu him name that no oliver twist fu he name tha oliver barrow and he no beg nobody fu nothing unu two need fu hook up because unu no the follow whey the go on read up UNU NEWS then come back a talk.

leave the begging for Minister Bega..
Common Sense:
I will hold you to that. He was in Mexico a month ago and let’s see if this is a follow-up from previous meeting. I would like for him to bring some of these leaders to our country, bring some revenue in hotel bookings, entertainment etc from these visits. Why should we always have to go to these places? It’s no safer there than here, Mexico has the same high rate of crime, come to think of it all the countries in the region have the same problem.
Rod: Very funny, have a good day!
Common Sense and Rod—It is your hate for Mr. Barrow that cause you both to say what you
say–I would never spare the rod to spoil a child—Mr. Barrow is the head of the country and it’s
his duty to find common sense in common ground. Mexico is huge with more wealth and power
than Belize–Most major crimes in Belize is a direct result from our neighbor countries—If Mr.
Barrow can get 2 helicopters and more sea craft for the fight against crime–I would be a soon
to be visitor to Belize–If he chose to bring the Minister of education along then maybe its also
about school funds, better school equipments and the basic necessities that goes with
academia…If it was just a junket move –then it is still your Prime Minister–you placed him in
power–you gave him the authority to be in-charge of the courts system, the business sector, the
finances of Belize, the decision of who gets and who don’t get—It is the easy people who are
making the country shift into dictatorship—Mr. Barrow can go on TV and announce his Official
takeover anytime as Prime Minister for life —similar to the Duvalier’s of Haiti and you Rod and
Common Sense would do jack about it–
Where has it been said that he has gone to Mexico to gain helicopters? It was not that far off MY prime minister said he would never beg.
Is Mexico in a position to furnish us with these great gifts that you anticipate? have you read the news recently concerning the state of most of the mexican lands?
If he comes out of Mexico with something good, like I said earlier, I will “eat my words” and apologize here….no problems.
Am fully aware of the Prime Ministers Constitutional duties to this country, and yes, I voted for him in the hopes of an improvement. I am critical of him now, just as I was critical of Musa before him and Esqivel before him. Possibly the same disapointment you might feel with your leader Obama, and Bush before him.
it is my right to be critical of his actions, just as I will praise actions that are well done…..and I will use my Constitutional rights to vote him out if improvements are not made, or vote for him if there is an improvement.
Don’t lecture me on my country, my friend. Belize may be seen by you as a country of words and complaints only, but there is a growth in discontent here, growing just as during the last year or so of the last PUP government. But unlike the rest of Central America, we have a reliance on democracy at the moment, and long may that be so.
Hopefully elections come before any trouble brews, and when election comes, I pray there will be an alternative to the PUDP options.
But in the meanwhile, I will continue to read, learn, study and yes, complain, about our gracious dictator until he does something worthwhile.
Feel free to continue doing the same in your country.
Radical – It’s a deal brother.
Agree – would be great if leaders stay a while instead of a day trip and flight out.
Sallams
@ Cutty right on my buay….Yes Belize STOP moaning and groaning you made your decision at election time now teck unu buckut……HAHAHA!!!! WOOOOOOOOY!!! and by the way if u guys vote PUP in next election the same crap will happen again and maybe worst……The Solution: Raise your children right to be honest respectable citizens care for them with love stop sending them to sell bollos and panades stop making a million kids u can’t maintain/educate. Bring up a new generation of educated well respected citizens then u will have a change…voting in these thieves over and over again makes no sense. Peace out and sleep tight ya”ll
Radical, I “eat my words” and apologize ( but sadly no helicopters!):
“Signed by Hon. Patrick Faber, Minister of Education and Youth was an agreement for Technical Cooperation to support Quality and Competitiveness in Technical Education and Training. Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Hon. Wilfred Elrington signed three documents. One is an exchange of letters for the exemption of Mexican visas for holders of Belize Diplomatic Passports to include Official Passports, another is a memorandum of understanding between the foreign ministries of both countries regarding Cooperation to support National Communities abroad, and the third is a Cooperation Agreement between the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property Rights and the Belize Intellectual Property Office.”
