Karen Dougal, Mother of Marquis Wade
“Well, actually I’m here tonight to ask the members of the community for assistance for my son, Marquis Wade. He is twelve years old, a student of Saint John Vianney. He is also a member of Belize Cadet corp. We are here for medical assistance for Marquis. He was diagnosed with stomach tumor from the age of seven. Actually, we went for a surgery in Richmond, Virginia where Doctor Lanin had attended to him to take out the tumor from his stomach. It was the size of a baseball. But now it seems that after two years now he is having difficulties again. He’s having side effects. The tumor seems to have now gone to his spleen. They have seen residue of the tumor coming back and now we are asking for assistance if they could help us. We need to get back to Richmond in order to remove this tumor again.”
The doctors have given Marquis Wade up to September fifteenth to return to the U.S. for his second round of surgery. Dougal said that while surgery will undertaken for free, they need assistance with air fares, accommodation and food expenses. If you want to assist this young man, get in touch with Karen Dougal at numbers, 623-2804 or 664-1636 or donations can be made at the Civil Service Credit Union Limited account number 1904.
