Magic of Dreams opens Mexican Institute
Opening tonight at the Belize-Mexico Cultural Institute is an art exhibition called The Magic of Dreams. The thirty-five pieces of art that comprise the show are by famed Mexican artist Rodolfo Morales, who died in 2001. It’s too late to make it to the opening ceremony, but News Five got a special preview this morning.

“We are very excited about this exhibition because we have a unique opportunity to enjoy the work of one of the greatest Mexican contemporary painters. He is well known for being a surrealistic Mexican painter and I think that the public will enjoy the work because he masters colours in a very fantastic way, in a remarkable way. And you will see that most of his paintings are dreamlike paintings and so he especially depicts women, Mexican women, in countryside and village settings and that is very, very interesting because it’s another way to look at Mexico, not only in Mexican art, but also about women in Mexico. I think this is a unique opportunity for Belizeans, for everybody to come and enjoy this fantastic work.”
Morales is also known for his restoration of churches in Mexico as well as his humanitarian work. The exhibition runs until September twelfth. Entrance is free.
