Putt-Putt Bar and Grill jacker charged with burglary
Police moved quickly and have arrested a man for a burglary at Putt-Putt Bar and Grill. Forty-three year old Jewel Waight appeared in Magistrates’ Court today to answer to the charge, but pled not guilty. On Tuesday afternoon, businessman Orson Elrington told police he was driving pass the Newtown Barracks establishment when he saw that a man had helped himself to his bar stage and was putting it inside a pickup truck. When Elrington went inside the bar to see what else was missing, he found that burglars had cleaned him out to the tune of over two thousand dollars. The missing items include two basins, a microwave, two gas tanks, a deep frying stove, and a refrigerator. Waight was offered bail of three thousand dollars and will reappear in court on September fifteenth.
