Julio and Vanesa say “I Do!”

It is a match made in heaven, Vanesa and Julio took their wedding vows this past Sunday on live television. The reality wedding culminated months of romance that were captured on live television as our cameras followed Julio and Vanesa. Like many couples, their love was tested by the challenges that came their way. Julio was seriously injured in a traffic accident but Vanesa stood by his side. News Five’s Delahnie Bain reports has a brief look at the memorable wedding on Saturday.

Vanesa Ramos and Julio Escalante finally walked down the aisle this past Saturday in Channel 5’s Reality Wedding, presided over by Canon Leroy Flowers. The blushing bride was escorted by her father to meet her groom and with no objections, the couple made their first promise to spend the rest of lives together.

“Julio, will you take Vanesa to be your wife? Will you love her, comfort her, honour and protect her and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?”

Julio Escalante

“I will.”

“Vanesa, will you take Julio to be your husband? Will you love him, comfort him, honour and protect him and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?”

Vanesa Ramos

“I will.”

The father of the bride then gave his daughter to become Julio’s wife. Julio took her hand in his as they took the next step… the wedding vows.

“I Julio, take you Vanesa to be my wife; to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worst, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for the rest of our lives. According to God’s holy law, this is my solemn vow.”

Vanesa Ramos

“Julio, I Vanesa take you to be my husband; to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worst, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherish and obey, for the rest of our lives. According to God’s holy law, this is my solemn vow.”

Next came the blessing and exchange of the rings.

“Vanesa, I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage, all that I am, I give to you. All that I have I share with you within the love of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.”

Vanesa Ramos

“Julio, I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage, all that I am, I give to you. All that I have I share with you within the love of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.”

Canon Leroy Flowers

“In the presence of God and before this congregation, Julio and Vanessa have given their consent and made their marriage vows to each other. They have declared their marriage by the joining of hands and by the giving of rings. I now declare you husband and wife. You may now turn and kiss your bride.”

Julio and Vanesa made their union official with the signing of the marriage register. And then they were off to celebrate with friends and family at the reception.

The couple had their first dance as husband and wife to the song “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”.
