Operation Jaguar gets a loaded weapon off the streets

Steven Polonio

Steven Polonio just turned nineteen and already he is a known face at the courthouse. His most recent charges are for Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm and Keeping Unlicensed Ammunition. Police caught Polonio on Tuesday morning as he was allegedly fleeing from a robbery scene carrying a point thirty-eight special revolver. The cops say that a team from Operation Jaguar responded to the robbery report on Oleander Street where they saw three men riding away on bicycles. Polonio allegedly threw the fire into a parked pickup truck when they spotted the police. The Jaguar team caught up with Polonio and then recovered the weapon, which was loaded with six live rounds. He was denied bail and remanded to the Central Prison until December sixteenth.

  10. The People Had Enough says:

These guys are just doing what they are told to do; the retardation of this Operation starts at the tippy top. When will the GOB sit down and get a think tank together to actually figure out where the guns are coming from? Also, the Gun Control issue in Belize is the very fact that is allowing innocent citizens to be robbed and gunned down by crazed criminals, it is almost impossible to get a gun license, as a law abiding citizen, in Belize; however the GOB does not take into consideration that if someone wants to commit a crime they more than likely will not go do a vetting, apply and wait to hear if the commissioner granted them an approval letter to acquire a gun and a license to go with it, this is just beyond the realms of retarded. A criminal can get a gun on the streets for a couple hundred bucks and most of the time get it from their gang leader (politicians) for free.

Belize is trying so hard to follow in the footsteps of the American system that it is tearing this country apart, we set policies without thinking them through and try to use Uncle Sams cookie cutter laws and policies and not realizing that we have to deal with our problems on a totally different level and POV. Take a look at this Gun Facts and see what I am talking about http://www.gunfacts.info/pdfs/gun-facts/5.1/gun-facts-5.1-screen.pdf

Also, that is a tip of the iceberg, when we start HANGING THE WHITE COLLAR CRIMINALS then some true justice will be hand, until then, hanging the street thugs are pointless unless we have those theiving corksoakers of a white collar crimes right next to the thugs.

Wonder if people realize that the elites of the country today are the ones spending all the black market, drug money from yesteryears; they did exactly what Scarface depicted; took their money and invested it into legit businesses and now they are the magnate of this country, they are the elites that the younger generation look up to and worship them for their wealth, cause the young generation is so brainwashed by the elites driving around in fancy cars, living in big houses telling everyone how hard they worked or how hard their grandparents work, yeah right.

So what do the younglings do? They go out there and try to get the riches anyway they can, and most turn to crime cause it is the easy way in and easy way out (grim reaper style). Go to Thursday Thursdays and see all the spoilt brats of old drug, black market, illegal money thinking they are Gods gift to Belizeans, basking in the black labels and champagne bought with daddy’s money, thinking how cool they are that they’re parents were smart and got rich the good ol fashion way.

This country is so twisted its not even funny, and only a handful of people see it, Smokey Joe was one (he passed) and Evan X, but he looks like a sell out now to me; I guess the National Perspective was right.
