Air Century not responsible for Chinese nationals
After the revelation that human- traffickers managed to land three planes at the Philip Goldson International Airport in September and October and their human cargo headed across the border, public outcry began for an investigation. When that scam was busted, we launched an investigation that has shown that a steady flow of Chinese Nationals bypassed the British Embassy in China and flew to Cuba where they were granted visas approved by Minister Carlos Perdomo. Our revelation that Sri Lankan nationals headed this way from Ecuador, opened up an additional can of worms. Aside from the issue of human trafficking, the risk to our national security has been glaringly exposed. Planes landing at night at the international airport, missing documents and Sri Lankans traveling through Ecuador to get to Belize; all that shows that the security apparatus of the country has been compromised. At the beginning of our investigation, News Five placed a courtesy call to the charter company that owns the planes that flew to Belize from Haiti with the Chinese Nationals. The company put the onus of who ends up this way on our government.

“I’m trying to find out information about flights that were chartered through Air Century to Belize that had Asian nationals on board. The first one landed on September eighteenth with thirteen passengers. The second one was September nineteenth with seven passengers. The last plane for October third was H1871. It had a Haitian Pilot on board. A Haitian pilot from Port-Au-Prince, that’s the last flight. So it came from D.R. to Port-Au-Prince then on to Belize. But none of the people on board had visas. They were undocumented. So we are trying to find out what Air Century’s procedures are when having these people on board. Do they need to produce a visa for the country they…”

“Actually no. it’s a commercial airline. If you come right now and charter an airplane, you can charter any airplane you want anywhere in the world. It’s the job of the governments, customs officers or immigration officers, to see if you applied for a visa or you indeed have a visa to go to the states, to go to Belize, to go to Haiti. So there are no procedures not over here, but in any company. That’s the responsibility of the government if you can go or if you can’t go to a point.”

“So you don’t have any specific details on these flights?”

“Oh no, not at all, but I can gladly find out Sanchez. And don’t get me wrong Jose. I honestly don’t know what my customers do or what they don’t do. That’s up to the responsibility of the government to stop that. It’s like by some reason, god forbids, that Osama Bin Laden travels in my airline, it’s not my job to stop it. But I will report it, of course, but it’s the job of the F.B.I. or something like that. But I really appreciate that you say that or you give me the heads up because I don’t need any bad publicity.”
The charter company’s representative said that the government can easily make arrangements via diplomatic channels to find out who chartered the flights. But soon after the interview we obtained copies of the names on the manifest, which proved that the passengers were not Japanese as originally reported by government. In a coincidence, two of the thirty-three names in the charter flights, Lin Ying and Zheng Yu are also named in visas issued by the Belize/Cuba Embassy.
These ministers are just businessmen that’s all. They don’t care about the country just there pockets. They should be treated like zelaya.

fraud and is looked at as a suspicious document- Belizeans please travel with a copy of your
birth paper or Social Security card which will Assist your weak passport. Make those major
arrest GOB and make them fast.
Someone is blowing smoke? The only thing that sounds remotely accurate is the fact that it is the duty of the Customs Officials to verify the status of individuals entering their country. I have never been allowed to board an airline destined for a foreign country without a passport & visa with few exceptions. When a plane flies off course in the states, it is tracked & sometimes shadowed by fighter jets, if not brought down. There is a Belizean family who never got the chance to bury their son after the plane he was in filed a flight plan & diverted from it. THE PLANE “CRASHED” just off the California coast. A commercial airline “strayed” into Russian airspace years ago & was brought down. These people are exploiting our lack of resources & corruption.
I think that the charter company owner was not being honest. I would think that the charter company would want to know if the people on the flight had Visas so that they wouldn’t end up in the position of being forced to take them back wherever they came from. That might not happen in Belize since it seems the company is incorporated here, but it could happen in another country if the charter ever lands planes full of human cargo outside Belize. A country legitimately trying to prevent human trafficking would probably not look with great fondness on a charter airline that comes and drops off 30 illegals and leaves. In fact, another country would have probably refused to let that charter flight clear customs and immigration itself until the people on board did. Just as they do with American, Continental, etc. That’s why when you check into a commercial flight they make sure you have the proper papers.
you all can say all you want the bottom line is the pm and perdomo should be arrested immediately for treason and spying on their country for allowing this to happen no ifs ands and buts about it does anyone know what the law is on treason in belize or do we even have a law against it let me know but the opposition should come out with their position on this issue and demand the arrest of these two people ok channel 5 the only left is for you to find out how much did the lower people get paid for what they did and then we can triple that as to how much perdomo and barrow got paid.
On election day, you see politicians giving people $100 – $150 for votes, right in front of the Police. That is ridiculous.. no one dares to stop it. And when ministers get elected, their net-worth automatically quadruples and the amount individuals were paid “gan long time” – then ministers continue to raping our country for 5 years without any remorse! There is no such thing as transparency and accountability.
